Job summary:
DTx – Digital Transformation CoLAB, a Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) of national reference in Digital Transformation, with the purpose of boosting innovation and applied research in Portugal, announces the opening of a vacancy for the position of Financial Coordinator (FC). This position will report directly to the Executive Board and collaborating closely with the CEO for the strengthening and sustainable growth of the institution.
Mission:
The Financial Coordinator will be responsible for designing and proposing the CoLAB’s financial strategy to the Executive Management board, ensuring its implementation and operationalization. This should aim at the financial sustainability of the CoLAB, contributing to the fulfillment of strategic objectives, through the efficient management of financial resources, compliance with legal requirements, accounting management and reporting, cost control, and accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
– Development and implementation of financial strategies aligned with the CoLAB’s strategic objectives;
– Cost control and optimization, as well as identification of opportunities for financial improvement;
– Interaction with Funding Entities in the context of R&D projects financed by public funds, including preparation and submission of payment requests;
– Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring transparency and compliance with accounting standards;
– Management of relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders;
– Financial advice to the Executive Management board, contributing to informed strategic decisions;
– Coordination of the Administrative and Financial team.
Requirements:
– Pre-Bologna degree / Bologna degree + Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management or related areas;
– Proven professional experience in financial management functions, preferably in innovation and research contexts, at least 10 years;
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
– Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team;
– Mastery of financial and reporting tools, as well as knowledge of relevant accounting standards;
– Fluency in Portuguese and English, spoken and written.
